Using 1D and 3D LUT for Color Correction
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction LUT is an acronym for Look Up Table. As LUT techniques become more common for Color correction applications, users are often confused by the multiplicity of available solutions present on the market. Purpose of this document is to present in a simple way the pros and cons of the different techniques and to emphasize on most important features of each solution to help customer decision.

Color decomposition method for multiprimary display using 3D-LUT in linearized LAB space
This paper proposes a color decomposition method for a multi-primary display (MPD) using a 3-dimensional look-uptable (3D-LUT) in linearized LAB space. The proposed method decomposes the conventional three primary colors into multi-primary control values for a display device under the constraints of tristimulus matching. To reproduce images on an MPD, the color signals are estimated from a devi...
متن کاملEffective Channel-Independent Inverse Characterization Method for Display Device
This paper proposes a channel-independent inverse characterization process based on the GOG model for a display device. The CIEXYZ values for each of RGB channel can estimated from nine channel-independent interpolation TRCs (Tone Response Curves), and the result of this characterization method is better than that from conventional three channel-independent interpolation TRCs. However inverse c...
متن کاملEvaluating the smoothness of color transformations
Multi-dimensional look up tables (LUTs) are widely employed for color transformations due to its high accuracy and general applicability. Using the LUT model generally involves the color measurement of a large number of samples. The precision and uncertainty of the color measurement will be mainly represented in the LUTs, and will affect the smoothness of the color transformation. This, in turn...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Lookup Table with Interpolation
Color space transformation using a 3D lookup table (LUT) with interpolation is used to correlate the source and destination color values in the lattice points of a 3D table, where nonlattice points are interpolated by using the nearest lattice points. This method has been used in many applications with quite satisfactory results, and incorporated into the ICC profile standard.1 In this chapter,...
متن کاملApplications of the Color Conversion System Using the LUT and Interpolation to the Real-Time Color Recognition
This paper presents applications of the c o l o r conversion system using the LUT(Look U p Table) and interpolation to the real-time color recognition. This system can discriminate between target area and non-target area by using c o l o r information in real-time(30 frames/sec). The flesh tint extraction have been performed by this system as example showing its ability. I . Introduction In the...
